Whatever the Michelin Star equivalent is for a cafe, Resident deserves it. We have loved their coffee and chai since we moved to Gainesville two years ago. At the cafe - pancakes, avocado toast, eggs and hash, croissants and anything else we have had are delicious. Family friendly and the service is excellent every time. Thank you specifically to Pedro, you went above and beyond to accommodate our young kids today. 🙏 We hope Resident stays around for many years to come.

Just tried for the first time and was very impressed with the quality and service here. I rarely eat out because I dont eat seed oils and when I found out they are seed oil free, cook with nixtamalized masa harina, and have unrefined sweeteners available, I had to try it out. The coffee sweetened with panela was a true coffee connoisseur treat and the masa huarache was true gourmet comfort food. I will definitely be back. Thanks Brandon and the rest of the crew.

This place is amazing. Maybe the best coffee shop in the city. Eggs and bacon are made fresh. Cinnamon roll was perfect, texture and flavor wise. Atmosphere is beautiful with a ton of seating. The staff are super nice too. Latte and cap were awesome. I have no complaints at all.

So excited to have a coffee shop experience to match the incredible roasted coffee I’ve been enjoying for years! Of course the coffee (and non-coffee!) options are phenomenal, but the food menu is more than equal in terms of sheer awesomeness—literally everything on the menu looks delicious, and the dishes we tried during their soft opening weekend were 5-stars in terms of flavor and quality of ingredients. The staff was soooo friendly and everything was running smoothly! The whole space is beautifully decorated and inviting, with lots of different seating options to match whatever vibe you’re looking for. Can’t wait to make this a regular stop whenever I’m in the area!

Great workspace, delicious food, and even better people. Toby and Shane were especially kind and sweet natured. I really appreciated how intentional they were about how they served me. Their eye contact, smile and warmth made my experience more memorable. Came for coffee and workspace, stayed for food, and will be back for the people.

heard great things about this cafe, and it does not disappoint! they use quality, organic (sometimes even house-made) ingredients in their foods and drinks. i’m partial to trying seasonal specials, so i grabbed their spring strawberry/guava matcha and carrot cake latte. the matcha was AMAZING!! i was expecting some more cinnamon/cream cheese flavor for the latte, but still alright. i decided to grab the stacked biscuit since their protein options were a little pricier, and it was a great option. i’d never tasted a blue corn biscuit before so i’m not sure if it’s usually dry, but altogether with egg, cheese, and sausage it was pretty tasty!

a wonderful, must-try gainesville gem! at the heart of this cafe-restaurant is fusion and cultural celebration. resident coffee roasters have good, aromatic coffee; their food dishes are delicious and exciting. the resi latte had a nice contrast between the coffee, the sweet panela, and the bright citrus. we also ordered a cold brew with some almond milk - that was great! the poblano butter and blue corn biscuits are a creative take on an american classic, and the poblano really shined through. the huarache was delicious and crispy, and the pickled onions and salsa macha balanced the egg and avocado. the chicken on the biscuits was nice and crispy, albeit a little plain. the brisket was incredibly tender - i would really recommend trying it! honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. the setting inside is lovely, great for studying and reading and for enjoying time with loved ones. resident coffee is a great brunch spot!

Love this place! the food and pastries are excellent and the coffee is delicious, their signature Resi is my fave. They also roast many blends from all over, my favorite is their “Love Letter to Gainesville”. They always have cute merch including handmade mugs from local artists. The vibe is top notch, great to do a little work on my laptop or a sit down brunch/lunch diner feel.

Awesome spot. Beautiful interior (incredibly well designed) with a hip crowd and lovely staff. Went for both coffee and brunch. I can say that the espresso was pulled just about flawlessly (just enough bite to make me happy without killing the actual flavor of the coffee) and my wife was in love with her mocha. For brunch itself, the chorizo burrito satisfied both my hunger (without leaving my stomach feeling bloated or overly full) and my love of easy rhymes. My wife praised the break bowl, and I can attest to that praise with the few bites I tried. This place is an easy recommend, and I am excited to return.

what a cute and yummy place! the vibe of this place is very cozy and retro, a perfect place to just get coffee with friends or study. i came here for breakfast with my partner and we loved it. i got the quiche with the potato pepper hash and he got the breakfast sausage sandwich with corn buns. the quiche was phenomenal, melt in your mouth yummy. the potatoes were excellent too. we both got coffees as well which were good. the prices are a little high but thats to be expected at a cute coffee shop.
